Sanderson

I know you will be amazed…but Rick “Pilgrims Pride” Perry also helped secure a $50,000 contribution from Sanderson Farms for the Republican Governors Association.

Joe will do some more digging to see how involved they are in this assault on biofuels as well…

Be back with more when I determine how far reaching this is…it seems to just keep growing…

A Letter From Jim Schwertner…

August 4, 2008 | Filed Under Uncategorized | No Comments

Check out this letter I got my hands on from Jim Schwertner that he sent out to other cattle producers..

It appears that Jim is a very large cattle feeder in Texas.

It also appears that he is pretty darn friendly with Rick “Pilgrims Pride” Perry — the governor of Texas that is doing everything in his power to help foreign dictators, keep us fighting wars in the middle east and destroy renewable energy.

Anyways…I got my hands on a letter that old Jim sent out to fellow cattle producers.

Take a look:

Governor Rick Perry of Texas wants to help us.  So let’s help him!

Governor Perry last Friday asked the Administrator of the EPA to waive by 50% the Renewable Fuel Standards on ethanol derived from grain.  He understands we are all facing a crisis due to the high cost of feed.  He knows that if something is not done soon, the price of food will skyrocket and hurt American consumers.

If this waiver is granted, speculation on corn should go down, and we will see more normal prices on corn.

If you agree with Governor Perry, print out the attached letter that Governor Perry sent to the EPA.  Then fax the letter back to me with your business card and signature on the bottom of Governor Perry’s letter.  I will then give them all to him, showing our support and thanks. Please send fax to 512-474-0120.  To view Governor Perry’s letter to the EPA, click here.

We are also taking out a newspaper ad in which we will thank him for his support.  If you would like your name to be listed, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Jim Schwertner

A Few Questions For Jim:

1.) How much money have you given to Rick “Pilgrims Pride” Perry or an affiliated group?

2.) How well do you know Bo Pilgrim and the executives at Pilgrims Pride?

3.) How much money and effort are you expending to destroy renewable fuels and to keep the United States hinged to foreign oil?

I think Joe shall investigate…

The man in his own words…

I tell you what…that is a nice little documentary on Mr. Schwertner and his company.

It portrays a very nice picture of Mr. Schwertner…a little different than some of the intel that old Joe is picking up.

Will be back soon…I am on the trail of something my readers will find interesting about Mr. Schwertner and his friends.

All of this just leads to more questions, doesn’t it?

Waco Tribune-Herald: Perry and Pilgrim

The following is an editorial published by the Waco Tribune-Herald:

“Good government.”

That’s what a spokesperson for Gov. Rick Perry said poultry magnate Lonnie “Bo” Pilgrim was interested in when he gave $100,000 to a group chaired by Perry. More likely, this was about Bo Pilgrim.

The gift came six days after a meeting in which the poultry magnate appealed to Perry to oppose federal ethanol standards. Pilgrim says the standards drive up the price of corn and raising poultry. Perry complied.

The money went to the Republican Governor’s Association, which routinely rewards its members with campaign stash.

Good government, or good old government graft?

Pilgrim is shameless when it comes to buying the good graces of Texas lawmakers. In the 1980s, he handed out $10,000 checks on the floor of the Texas Senate when legislation pertaining to his industry was considered.

Good government? Bo’s just talking turkey.

I know this is Texas and all, but come on!

It has now come to light that Bo Pilgrim and Pilgrims Pride has paid over $9,000 for Governor Rick “Pilgrims Pride” Perry and his staff to travel to DC for a press conference bashing renewable energy.

Read the article here: http://www.dailytribune.net/articles/2008/07/16/news/03.txt

“Lonnie “Bo” Pilgrim paid more than $9,000 in airfare for Gov. Rick Perry and three aides to attend a news conference last month in Washington to promote a waiver of federal ethanol mandates, according to newspaper reports.”

To what end will Bo Pilgrim and Rick “Pilgrims Pride” Perry go to destroy any chance America has for energy independence?

Is Bo Pilgrim Screwing Farmers?

A group of chicken farmers have been pursuing a lawsuit against Pilgrims Pride and its founder, Bo Pilgrim.

Among other things, including alleging that Pilgrim is in violation of the Packers and Stockyards Act, the group of farmer growers essentially allege that Pilgrim is screwing them on what he pays for their chickens because of how he does business.

Pilgrim has fought it.

However, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals agrees with the farmers.

This case heads for trial in 2009.

Would Bo really hurt the little guy?
